Best Marble Floor Cleaner in India 2026: 4 pH-Neutral Picks

By Priya Sharma 30 September 2026

Walk into most Indian homes built in the last thirty years and there is marble underfoot: white Makrana in the pooja room, Italian slabs in the living room, green or pink Rajasthani stone in older flats. It looks tough, and mostly it is, until someone mops it with the same tile cleaner they use in the bathroom. Marble is calcium carbonate, and acid eats it. The dull, rough patch by the kitchen door and the pale ring where a pickle jar once stood are not dirt. They are etching.

For this guide we went through about 140 floor cleaner listings on Amazon.in, kept the ones sold for marble and natural stone that were in stock on 28 September 2026, and read their review summaries and owner reviews. The category is crowded with small brands that have thin or very mixed reviews, so the list is short.

With Diwali cleaning starting, we have also covered how to deep-clean a marble floor, how to lift common stains, and what you should keep well away from it.

Top picks at a glance

The honest take

Buy a pH-neutral cleaner and use less of it than you think. Surie Polex Floor Cleaner Neutral is our pick for polished marble. The bottle matters less than the habits around it: sweep before you mop, change the water when it turns grey, buff the floor dry, and never let vinegar, lemon, toilet cleaner or an acid-based tile cleaner touch it. No cleaner brings back polish that acid has already etched away; that takes a professional with a polishing machine.

How to choose

pH-neutral is the one thing that matters

Marble and limestone react with acids. Mild ones like vinegar and lemon juice leave dull patches, and the hydrochloric acid in many toilet and tile cleaners can roughen a polished floor in seconds. Look for a listing that says pH neutral, pH balanced or acid free, ideally one sold for marble or natural stone rather than for bathroom tiles.

Granite is tougher, but the same cleaner works

Granite shrugs off acid far better than marble, but its polish and any sealer on it still wear faster under harsh chemicals. A cleaner made for marble works on granite too, so one bottle covers a home that has both.

Floor cleaner is not floor polish

Marble 'shampoos' clean; they do not restore shine. If a floor looks dull straight after mopping, it is usually a film of too much cleaner, which less product and a dry buff will fix. If it stays dull, the polish itself has worn or been etched, and only diamond polishing or crystallisation by a stone contractor will bring it back.

Concentrates go further than they look

Most marble cleaners are diluted a capful or two per bucket. Vooki's listing gives 4 ml per litre of water, so a small, thick concentrate can outlast a much bigger bottle of a watery disinfectant.

Surie Polex Floor Cleaner Neutral (1 L)

The verdict

A proper stone-care cleaner for polished marble, from a brand that makes marble chemicals for a living.

Surie Polex is better known to stone contractors than to shoppers; the brand also sells marble wax, moulding shiners and other stone-care products. Its Floor Cleaner Neutral is the everyday product from that range. The listing describes a pH-balanced, acid-free formula that loosens dirt quickly, protects the gloss of polished surfaces, and is suitable for Indian and imported marble. You dilute it and mop. It has a 4.3-star average from 136 ratings, and more than 200 were bought in the past month.

Amazon's review summary says customers find it good quality and effective on marble floors, removing dirt perfectly. One owner says a single cap in a bucket of water is enough, and that it leaves a pleasant fragrance and removes the dirt well; another calls it an effective, harmless way to keep a floor clean.

The review base is small next to mass-market floor cleaners, and it comes only in a 1 litre bottle. Do not confuse it with the brand's separate 'Marble Cleaner', which has a lower 3.7-star rating; the one to buy is labelled Floor Cleaner Neutral.

Vooki Floor + Surface Cleaner (500 ml)

The verdict

The most concentrated and most versatile cleaner here, and the one to buy if you have marble, granite and tiles in the same home.

Vooki is made in Chennai and sells plant-based cleaners, and its Floor + Surface Cleaner is one of the few mid-priced floor cleaners that states a pH-balanced formula clearly. The listing says it preserves the shine of marble and granite, uses surfactants derived from sugarcane and corn, contains no ammonia or bleach, and carries a Type-1 eco label. The dose is two caps in 4 litres of water, or 4 ml per litre, so the 500 ml bottle makes up to 125 litres of mopping solution. It has a 4.2-star average from more than 700 ratings.

Amazon's review summary says customers find it effective and like the smell, though opinions on cleaning power and value are divided. Owners describe a light orange liquid that smells like chandan; one uses it to clean the granite floor of a temple, and a repeat buyer says it leaves the floor clean wherever you mop.

One owner had a faulty nozzle, and another wishes the bottle used less plastic. Because it is so concentrated it is easy to overdo, which leaves a film on polished stone, so measure the dose.

Pixur Marble and Tile Shampoo (5 L)

The verdict

The choice for big marble homes: acid free, easy to dose, and a can that lasts months.

Pixur's Marble and Tile Shampoo has been sold on Amazon.in for years in orange, deo-fresh and natural-oil versions. The 5 litre deo-fresh can is described as a thick, concentrated floor wash with no hydrochloric acid, made for marble, granite, vitrified and ceramic tiles, mosaic and stone, that rinses without sticky residue or white marks. It has a 4.2-star average from 391 ratings.

Amazon's review summary for the smaller packs says customers like the scent and find it useful, but are divided on how well it lifts hard stains. The most telling owner review comes from a family with mirror-finish marble who have used it for more than two years and say the lustre has stayed. Another says it gives a good shine and fragrance once you learn to use it, rather than expecting it to work on its own.

Treat it as a daily cleaner, not a stain remover: one owner who switched from Lizol found it only a notch better on tiles. For a smaller home, the 2 × 600 ml combo pack is also in stock, with more than 950 ratings.

SOFTSPUN Microfiber Cloths (pack of 10)

The verdict

Not a cleaner, but the difference between a streaky marble floor and a shining one.

Marble looks best when it dries without water spots, and Indian tap water leaves plenty. Wiping the floor dry with a clean microfibre cloth after mopping, or at least the areas that catch the light, lifts the last of the dirty water and any film of cleaner. SOFTSPUN's pack has ten 40 × 40 cm cloths of 340 GSM microfibre in a 70:30 polyester and polyamide blend, according to the listing. It has a 4.3-star average from more than 32,000 ratings.

Amazon's review summary says customers find them effective for dusting, soft enough not to scratch surfaces, and quick to absorb water and wring out. One owner who uses them around the house and on the car says they soak up spills fast and are good for drying and polishing.

A few owners find them less soft than expected. Wash them before first use and not with other fabrics, as the listing says; towel lint clogs microfibre. The same cloths are useful for polishing wooden furniture and wiping fans.

How to mop a marble floor

  1. Sweep or vacuum first. Sand and grit act like sandpaper under a mop and cause most dull walkways.

  2. Dilute the cleaner as the label says. More is not better; extra cleaner leaves a film that holds dirt.

  3. Use a well-wrung microfibre or cotton mop. The floor should be damp, not flooded, and water should not sit in the joints.

  4. Change the water when it turns grey. Mopping with dirty water spreads a thin layer of grime.

  5. Buff dry with a microfibre cloth, especially in hard-water areas, to stop water marks.

How to remove common stains from marble

Oil, ghee and grease

Make a thick paste of baking soda and water, spread it over the stain, cover it with cling film and leave it for a day. The paste draws the oil out of the stone. Wipe it off with water and repeat if the mark is still there.

Haldi, tea and coffee

On white or light marble, a few drops of 3 per cent hydrogen peroxide from a chemist, left on the stain for a few minutes and then rinsed off, usually lightens these marks. Try it in a corner first, and do not use it on dark marble or granite, where it can lighten the stone itself.

Dull rings and rough patches

If a spot feels rough or looks dull after cleaning, it is etching from something acidic, such as lemon, vinegar, cola or a toilet cleaner. No cleaner reverses it. Light etching can sometimes be buffed out with a marble polishing powder; deeper damage needs a stone contractor with a polishing machine.

Rust marks

Rust from a metal stand or a gas cylinder sinks deep into marble. Most household rust removers are acidic and will etch the floor, so use a rust remover sold for natural stone or ask a stone contractor.

What never to use on marble

If your bathroom floor is marble, keep toilet cleaner off it; our guide to toilet cleaners for hard water explains why those formulas are strong enough to damage stone.

A pre-Diwali deep clean for marble floors

Once a year, before the festival, the floor deserves more than a quick mop.

  1. Move furniture and sweep the edges and corners where grit collects.

  2. Mop section by section, using the stronger dilution for heavy soiling if the label gives one.

  3. Scrub grimy spots gently with a soft nylon brush or a white scrubbing pad, never steel wool.

  4. Mop again with clean water to lift the loosened dirt and any leftover cleaner.

  5. Buff dry with microfibre cloths.

  6. If the main walkways still look dull, book a professional polish rather than reaching for stronger chemicals.

Clean from the top down: do the ceiling fans and the wooden furniture first, and the floor last, so the dust you knock down goes out with the mop.

Popular cleaners we left out, and why

These appear in Amazon.in results for marble and granite floor cleaners. Each was left out for a specific reason from its listing or review summary on 28 September 2026.

Product

Why it is not on the list

Zimmer Aufraumen Marble and Granite Shampoo

The most bought marble cleaner in the results, with more than 1,000 sold in the past month, but it holds 3.7 stars from 2,000+ ratings, and its review summary mentions sticky residue for some buyers and results that fall short of the claims.

GoMarb Pro Marble and Granite Cleaner

A non-acidic concentrate for heavy cleaning, but at 3.8 stars its review summary is split between owners who find it excellent and owners who call it useless, and many feel it is expensive for the results.

Asian Paints SmartCare Tile Cleaner

A capable tile and grout cleaner, but its own listing warns that marble and granite might show surface etching and asks you to test it first.

Lizol and Presto! disinfectant floor cleaners

Popular, well-rated disinfectants (Lizol has 4.4 stars from 39,000+), and Presto!'s listing says it can be used on marble. Neither describes a pH-neutral stone-care formula, so we prefer a marble cleaner for daily mopping of polished floors.

Bona Stone, Tile and Laminate Floor Cleaner

Well rated at 4.5 stars, but only one can was left in stock when we checked, and it is an expensive import.

How we picked: We read about 140 Amazon.in listings for marble, granite and stone floor cleaners, kept those sold for marble or stating a pH-neutral or acid-free formula that were in stock with Add to Cart available on 28 September 2026, and read each one's review summary and recent owner reviews. We did not test these products ourselves; the picks reflect listing details and what verified buyers report.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is the best marble floor cleaner in India?

Surie Polex Floor Cleaner Neutral, a pH-neutral, acid-free cleaner sold for Indian and imported marble, with a 4.3-star rating. Vooki is the better buy if you also have granite, tiles or wooden floors.

Can I use Lizol on a marble floor?

Lizol is sold as a disinfectant for everyday floors, not as a stone-care cleaner, and its listing does not describe a pH-neutral formula. For daily mopping of polished marble we would use a pH-neutral marble cleaner and keep disinfectants for occasional use.

Is vinegar good for cleaning marble?

No. Vinegar is an acid and etches marble, leaving dull patches. The same goes for lemon juice and most homemade 'natural' cleaners.

How do I make my marble floor shine again?

Use less cleaner and buff the floor dry first; a film of detergent is a common cause of dullness. If it stays dull, the polish has worn or been etched, and it needs professional diamond polishing or crystallisation.

How often should I mop a marble floor?

Sweep daily and mop with a pH-neutral cleaner two or three times a week, or daily in kitchens and entrances. Wipe spills straight away, especially anything acidic.

Can I use the same cleaner on granite?

Yes. A cleaner made for marble works on granite too. Granite resists acid better, but its polish still lasts longer with a gentle cleaner.

The verdict

Surie Polex Floor Cleaner Neutral is the best marble floor cleaner for most Indian homes: pH neutral and acid free according to its listing, made by a stone-care brand, and well reviewed by owners. Choose Vooki if you want one concentrated bottle for every hard floor, and Pixur's 5 litre can if you have a lot of marble to mop.

Whatever you buy, sweep first, dose lightly, buff dry and keep acids off the floor. That does more for marble than any bottle. For the rest of the house, see our home cleaning essentials.
